I also worked near Lou Turks...
I also worked near Lou Turks back in the early 80's, and would stop in every Friday nite on my way home from work. It was an amazing dive. Back then, the "main" stage was a small platform protruding from the bar. It was about chest high. Guys would be lined up on all 3 sides of the stage holding dollar bills, and the dancers spent most of their time getting those dollars. What was amazing was the you could literally eat pussy for that dollar. When it was your "turn", the dancer would get close to the edge of the stage, pull her g-string aside, take your dollar, and let you eat away! With most guys, this would only last a few seconds, but if she liked you or your technique, you'd get a real feast!
The place was raided numerous times over the years, and would get "tame" for awhile then go back to its old wild ways. Finally, about the time I moved away, they got shut down for awhile. Several years later, I was back in Philly and went back. It was far from its old self. The stage was now behind the bar, and the only interaction you got was when the dancers finished, they'd slowly work their way around the bar for tips. Best part of the place was the foxy, older bartender who'd flash her tits (and maybe let you cop a feel) for a buck tip.
