What attracted my interest to this club was what to make of a club, not all that far away from the famous City of Industry clubs that had a higher rating than any of them, including the celebrated Hawaii Theatre, and yet only had a handful of reviews. Was it a statistical anomaly or a hidden gem?

The answer is a hidden gem, but not as a metaphor. The club really is very intentionally hidden. Unlike the COI Pomona has a population of citizens who care about property values and keeping out sleazy elements. So the club goes to great lengths so that nobody would believe that it actually is what its name says it is. If you didn’t know what to look for you could drive by it a dozen times without noticing.

From the street in an industrial part of Pomona a low plain sign sits in front of a concrete block wall containing two gated driveways. Behind there is an ample unshared parking lot. At the far end of that lot, maybe two hundred feet from the curb, is a plain beige stucco building with two small windows. The ONLY sign on the building is a small eye-level sign in block letters saying ‘Strip Joint Entrance’ plus the hours next to a windowless metal door. Not a single piece of neon or lighted sign anywhere.
