I was visiting the Hartford area...

I was visiting the Hartford area on business and did a little research in advance as to where I could spend some time. After poring over the reviews here and elsewhere, I decided on Electric Blue. Even though it was about a 30 minute drive from where I was staying, I had some time, and was hopeful it would end up being worth my time. The club itself is laid out differently from what I'm used to. Essentially a bar toward the rear, with the stage up front. The bar area is quite comfortable. The stage area was very dark, some tables there, but hardly anyone was sitting there. Maybe because there were hardly any girls dancing. After about 45 minutes I was really beginning to sour on the place. I only saw about 6 girls, and none approached me at all. They seemed to be taking guys back to the VIP area (behind the stage), where I presume anything goes. Aside from that, there were never any girls on stage, and the few others were hanging around the bar talking to other guys. I was about to leave, and was ready to slam the place on TUSCL, when a blonde Brazilian asked me if I wanted to dance. She wasn't all that attractive, and I was pretty bitter, but she told me she'd give me my money back if I wasn't satisfied. How could I refuse? Went to the dance room (off the bar area), and she immediately started to convince me I made the right decision. It was very welcome. I was satisfied after two songs ($40), but she said I owed her for four songs ($80) due to the overall experience. I offered three ($60) but she insisted on four, saying the same experience would have cost me $300 in VIP. I caved, and overall was satisfied. But for this happy ending, I would've given this club no more than "2"s across the board. I may give it another try next time I'm in Hartford.
