Bit of a freaky experience, this club. It's almost right-next-door to one of my more preferred Bourbon Street clubs (Scores, see reviews at that page) and, as I understand it, both clubs (and a few others) are owned by the same people. Lipstixx must be where they break in the new, potentially super-hot girls, plus where they put some of the frightening ones out to pasture. So, you got some jaded ex-stripper types who used to dance and then raised six kids and now they're back to having to dance again since the welfare checks stopped. And you got some very young super-hot girls, especially creamy African-Americans who moved to town perhaps with a boyfriend who dumped them, perhaps in order to attend a traditionally-black college (we got at least three here in NOLa) and then ran out of money. Either way, it tends to be the worst of at least one world -- either the gal is talented enough at stripping and lap-dancing that she knows how to make your experience enjoyable, but her body and face have long since departed; or, the gal may really look good, because she's still right out of the gate, but she's such a clueless beginner that she doesn't know how to interact during stripping or lap-dancing. Once in a while you can catch a gal who has both the looks and the skills, or you can (more likely! my favorite hunting tactic at this club) get an interpersonal experience with a hot gal who cuddles up to you, acts like she's into you a bit, and gets a free drink or two. With these young but clueless women, don't bother with the lappers, because she'll probably be too afraid of touch to allow it to be enjoyable. Just enjoy the fact that you can monopolize her attention for an hour or two. The drinks aren't really ridiculously overpriced at New Orleans style strip-club prices; they're just kind of overpriced at New Orleans style Bourbon Street prices. So, it's a decent experience, given what else is available in town. See my other recent reviews for some better clubs in town, but don't totally eschew this one -- it's worth a look in, on the odd evening, just to see if a few hotties happen to be available. The numbers I've selected for this review are meant to represent an overall impression of the club, after having visited during most time periods on most days of the week.
