The Toy Chest is located on the Detroit side of Ford Rd, a high speed corridor to the suburbs. Valet parking is available, but one can park on the side streets, this being Detroit, be observant of your surroundings, but I have never had any problems parking on the street. The club hasn't changed much physically inside. The room is L-shaped, with the stage in the middle being an elongated C-shape. The bar is off to one side of the room, with numerous booths and a number of tables in the room. The club had a pool table at one time, but it has been replaced by a few tables. I got there before Happy Hour so my beer was $6.50. Service was slow, the barmaid was more interested in talking to her bar customers rather than providing service to her tables. The sight-lines are good, the music is a good mix of stripper rock played not overwhelmingly loud. That night, Ron Jeremy was scheduled to appear but I didn't stick around. Ron walked by at one point, I just watched him talk to the manager. Dances have always been for the most part pretty decent, my experiences at night have been OK, nothing to write home to Mom about, but during the day, the dances are very good. I recognized a few of the dancers and watched them on the stage. One approached and asked if I wanted a dance, I agreed and we went back to the VIP area. The club does not charge for the VIP room, dances are still $20 apiece. The VIP area has about a dozen semi-private booths with curtains to shield the view. My dancer gave me a great series of dances, very good mileage and it was reasonable. I'll go back during the day, your experience may differ at night.
