I hadn't been in to La Chambre in quite awhile, it used to be one of my favorites so I stopped in on a Friday afternoon. As you enter the main room, the stage, a long stage is to the right and takes up basically the entire length of the room. The bar is on the other side with bench seating pretty much the norm otherwise surrounding the stage. It looks like they expanded something into the storefront to the north of the bar, but I didn't go in to see, so who knows what is back there. Sitting at the bar, the place was not busy at all, but it took an abnormal length of time to get a beer. This club had bartenders at one time who were pretty quick to give service, but it wasn't the case this time. The new no-smoking law helps a lot to make the atmosphere breathable.
The dancers used to be fairly aggressive in approaching the customers. One that I recognized as a long time dancer there approached me first and took a no, pretty nicely. I could have died waiting for another dancer to ask me so, I just sat and drank my beer and watched the show. The VIP area has been upgraded, I didn't go back for a dance so I can't testify how they are these days. Knowing this club as a long time regular, I don't doubt mileage is good. I'll return another time to see how things are, but this visit was a disappointment.
