Bogarts is now a better place because of Michigan's no-smoking law. Not much has changed otherwise. Physically, there is a main stage in the middle of the bar along one wall and 3 smaller stages throughout the bar. Drinks are reasonable by SC standards, my Miller Light has been $6.75 for years unlike another club that I will review later. By Detroit standards, Bogarts is a lower end club, but who cares if it isn't fancy. That's not what this club is about. The music isn't bad, the DJ is annoying, but bearable. The owner of this club and several others died recently. Hopefully not too many things will change as the estate gets settled. For the time being one of his sons is running the place I am told. Cover is $5 day and night, and one buys a wristband for $10 to get into the VIP area, a raised section on the front of the bar.

Dances are $20, with plenty of extras offered. That is what this club is about. The VIP area is a shared area where everyone up there can see what's going on. The bouncer doesn't care, no one else seems to. So YMMV, but everything is on the table, negotiate it as prices vary widely. The dancers run the gamut to stunning young women to older women, a lot of them hot. Plastic and natural, pick what you like and have fun. I did, I recommend the club over the Flight Club across the street where prices are higher and the place is fancier. Pick what you like. I'll go back.
