Visited: Friday Afternoon

Visited Deja Vu COI for the first time recently after reading all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I think I just hit it on a bad day. I was there on a Friday afternoon, arriving about 3:00 pm. The cover charge info on TUSCL indicates that the cover during the day is $5 and $10 at night. I was charged $15, but didn't notice this until I was at the bar getting a drink and realized I'd only been given $5 in change from my $20. So either the guy collecting cover charges screwed up or the TUSCL info is wrong. My mistake for not counting my change immediately.

Compared to most of my favorite clubs all around the country, the thing I really didn't like about the Deja Vu COI was that you get virtually NO personal attention for tipping stageside. Only one dancer provided minimal close up, hands-on customer interaction, but she was by far the least attractive dancer in the club. I like lots of stageside interaction because it gives you hints of who will provide the best private dances. Oh well. After wasting $30+ on stageside tips I finally realized why I was generally the only one sitting/tipping at the stage - the rest of the PLs (about 10) were seated back from the stage seldom, if ever tipping. Why bother? From reading the reviews I understood that the attraction of this club was the bargain laps and VIPs, but I would still have expected better action on the stage.

Anyway, I hung around for about 2 hours in hopes of finding someone to do some 3-4-20 dances or possibly a VIP. Without a more interactive stage show I found myself bored just sitting back from the stage and watching mostly bored dancers prance around the stage. Around 5:00 pm the dancer rotation began to repeat, but unfortunately, in the whole rotation (about 10 dancers), not a single dancer attracted me enough to get a dance, even with the bargain prices. Also, very few dancers trolled the seating area asking for dances. That wouldn't normally bother me because if I wanted a dance from a particular dancer, I'm not shy and I'll approach her and ask. However, in this case, many of the dancers were sitting in the large semicircular booths against the wall (I think maybe these are VIP booths requiring an extra charge, but I'm not sure) hanging with guys who I presume were probably regulars. I have no problem approaching a dancer who's standing or sitting alone and asking her for a dance, but in my mind it's a violation of some unwritten "strip club etiquite rule" to approach a girl who's sitting/talking with another PL.
