I've been to the 'new' Stars...
I've been to the 'new' Stars (it's been open for several months now) twice-- both on Fridays, around lunchtime.
As a club, the place is nice, physically. The interior is all new, and very glitzy. Nice new tables and chairs; lots of flat-screen TVs on the walls showing sports and videos, sleek bar, and generally a swank look. This is a major contrast from the run-down look of most other strip joints in PDX.
Inside, the room is given over to tables and chairs-- and a long bar that runs the entirity of one wall. It comes across more like an upscale restaurant/bar (and they do have a really nice menu for a strip joint). The three stages are, by contrast relatively small spaces along the sides of the room. In fact, the layout almost makes it seem like they are something of a 'sideshow', rather than club's raison d'etre. When I was there, only one stage was in use. The other two were empty.
