Visited the Sands about 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. There were only two vacant spots in the (rather small) parking lot, so I expected somewhat of a crowd. The club is smallish and rectangular. Entering and coming to the end of the bar, where three or four scantily clad women were chatting with barmaid and serverette, I passed on behind a kind of opaque glass wall, which I suppose enclosed a VIP area. Finally, one of the women pointed parallel to the bar, toward a tiny stage. Going that way, I found a hidden seating area consisting of a bench along the wall and small, square tables with one chair each. These seats do not face the stage, so if you wanted to watch the dancer, if there was a dancer, you’d get a crick in the neck. There were two other guys, so much for the crowded parking lot, seated, one chatting up a blonde. Posted signs announced there was a two drink minimum for $8, and dancer’s drinks were $9 each. Finally, the server deigned to, and I got my first drink and the prepaid receipt for the, presumptive, second. After a while a scantily clad blonde came over and told me they were playing break songs for lunch (2:30!). Later an Asian chick came over and told me there was no daytime show, and did I want a lap. I left. I don’t know what these people were doing to earn a living, but I don’t think it was working.
