It was Thursday night around 9:00...

It was Thursday night around 9:00 pm in San Diego. I hadn’t visited Dreamgirls in about three years. It looked just the same from the outside and the parking lot had a few cars, about normal for this time of night. I like to get in before 10:00 pm so I can get a seat at the bar which is just inside and to the left. I usually try to download a free coupon from the DejaVu website which waves the cover charge if you arrive before 9:00 o’clock. I didn’t have time this day, so I would be stuck paying the $10 cover charge.

Once inside I took a seat at the half empty bar and ordered a scotch on the rocks. I like to see if they try to up sell me to order a call shot. A female bartender who was about a 5 (scale 1-10) poured the drink and charged me $9. I guess she auto-upgraded me to a decent scotch; at least it tasted ok. I gave her a $10 dollar bill and let her keep a $1 tip.

There were about a dozen customers and almost as many dancers working. The stage is at the far end of the room but in the distance I could see that the dancer (like the bartender) rated somewhere in the 4 to 6 range. In fact looking around the room all the girls were equally mediocre.
