This was my first time to...
This was my first time to visit Rick's since it officially took over my former favorite club, Joy of Austin. Went at lunch time and found, to my pleasant surprise, that the two-for-one dances were once again being offered from 11 - 3 EVERY DAY. Also, to my pleasant surprise, the dancers were quite attractive (averaging 8 out of 10). There were a few familiar faces (ahem!) from the old Joy dancer ranks. I didn't have anything to eat, but hearsay had it that the food was better than it was at Joy's. The club had undergone a much-needed facelift inside and out, however the nice long couches and private booth areas in the back of the main room had been removed and replaced with wall-to-wall arm chairs that proved less than comfortable when getting a lap dance. The dancers seemed to keep looking over their shoulders during private dances and kept one foot on the floor at all times. New Rick's rules, I guess. Cheap beer (ANYTHING in the place) for $2 on Tuesdays. Didn't try out the VIP section, but it looked a lot like the old Camelot room to me. The action that went on in the Camelot room when the club was Joy's will forever be the stuff of legend . . . . Oh well, I'll probably come back soon and check out the food.
