A former Austin institution, the Crazy Lady has become "Chicas Bonitas." Don't let the name fool you, though. I went there for lunch one Friday (free enchiladas buffet - pretty lame) to see what the club had become. Parking is always an issue at this location, but the lot on the nearby corner that used to hold the overflow is now chained off. The club itself looks like it was gutted and painted black. None of the old Crazy Lady decor was kept - not that the CL was a classy joint or anything, but at least they tried to give it a little style. The new club seems to be catering to the Hispanic day-laborer crowd. I was the only one speaking English in the club, it seemed. The girls were unremarkable and overweight (for dancers), and there were only four dancers working the Fiday lunch hour. I didn't see any lap dancing going on, so I can't comment on those, but a somewhat secluded VIP section might hold some promise (not open at lunchtime). All in all, there are far better strip club choices elsewhere in Austin in which to spend your time and money.
