They say you never forget your first time, and as Sammy's was my first strip club, I find myself nostalgically paying the old girl a visit from time to time. As expected, no cover before 5. There was a decent crowd inside for the middle of a Friday afternoon. I grabbed a seat and a beer and just settled in to see what was going on. I used to know most of the girls on both day and night shift, now however, I'm older, heavier, and visit less frequently. Most of the ladies were pleasant as they passed me at the bar. I was a little surprised that tipping the girls I liked a 5 or a 10 didn't really elicit much response. Only one of 5 girls that I tipped came by and hugged me and thanked me for the tip. She asked if I would be here for a while as she was headed to sit with one of her regulars. I completely understand that from any dancer. I'm an unknown quantity, and she needs to get her $$ from the patrons who frequent the club to see her. I was disappointed in that in years past I almost always got at least a thank you. The girls were average in appearance to me. Some were very beautiful, some were cute, some just weren't to my taste. The bartenders were quick and friendly. The DJ sometimes came across a tad annoying, but that just may be me aging!! All in all, Sammy's is still a fun spot to visit for a short while. Private dances are air dances, and there isn't any chance of that changing that I see. I figure if I'm going to stop somewhere for a beer, I might as well have the pleasure of seeing some attractive women taking their clothes off. This is not a club I would head to for a rowdy evening with the guys, nor is it a club where I would enjoy blowing a large amount of cash. I will save that for Columbia and the Platinum!
