Had a day off and the occasion to be in the neighborhood of the Trop this past week and decided I'd go just a bit out of my way to check it out again. Hadn't visited in over a year and half and was pleasantly surprised. Place mostly looked the same though there is now a DJ/bouncer as you enter. He checked my ID but there was no cover. Think there were about 8 dancers during the time I was there and about half of them were pretty attractive. Only one of them was all just awful. The others were just not my type or a little chubby. Still, compared to my last visit, it was quite an improvement. The other change was that there was always someone dancing on the stage. The last visit that was not always the case. Tipped a couple of the more attractive ladies, one of whom I recognized from another club. A couple of the girls dropped by my table, including the ever-popular Jade who was the only dancer I remembered from before. Considered taking her up on her offer of a dance but had just arrived and felt like checking out the rest of the lineup. Sadly, neither of the ones I was hoping to sample came by as they were busy with other customers. Definitely a lot of regulars as most of the girls seemed to know most of the customers. It appears that the VIP is still the same as it has ever been. During a lull in a slow song, audible moaning could be heard from back there which was both a bit funny and also fairly enticing. I ended up leaving without getting a "dance" but resolved to make it back again soon to try out some of the new talent. As many reviewers have mentioned, this is a very strange place with a vibe that is unlike any other club you've ever visited. The girls are "working class" and so is the clientele. Everyone here seems to know the deal with this place but, while it doesn't exactly feel wholesome, it isn't quite seedy either. If you up for a really interesting experience, you will definitely want to check it out.
