Did some advanced research and found...
Did some advanced research and found that Femme Nu is among the closest along side Rock-Za from Waikiki. For whatever reason, you have to go around back to enter while also getting security searched. Made me suspect that this club reeked of thuginess, but found that was not to the case (at least for this Sunday night). Again, being that this was a Sun night, there were perhaps around 3 guys not including myself in this relaxed, clean, and laid back atmosphere. Modern hip hop and the Lady Gaga type blare throughout the place while the History Channel played on the flat screens at the bar. As a history buff, I can't say there's anything wrong with that! The layout of the place is a bit bizarre from what I'm used to in Alaska. There's about five tables throughout the place for dancing with chairs to pull up and look up. But outside of this, everything else is booths facing each other as if this place were one time a restaurant. None of the girls actually dance until someone pulls up a chair at a table. As a result, only one girl who I could barely see in the darkness across the room was dancing for her customer who did pull up a seat when I entered.
From what I saw, most of the girls appear to be white around a 5 to 7 range. There was one bulky woman who looked to be in her 40s who was chatting it up with her customer at a booth. Whatever floats your boat I guess... Anyways I was lucky to be found by the only Asian who had me pull up a chair at her table. She brings a sort of pillow to put on the table which all the other dancers look to have as well. As I've said, the overall place feels clean, but apparently the tables are another thing. Anyways, so my Asian strips down nude for a price of $20 at the table. There was no body contact at all. She later mentions that there's also the VIP room, so I quickly hit her up on her offer. Turns out, this "VIP room" resembles more of a peep show or video cabin in which dividers shield you from men sitting adjacent while the girl does basically the same thing she did at the table in the main room, only more far away while having this odd slab of wood barring you from moving out of your seat (I'll get to that later). Rates by the way are $25 for her to dance per song. She was nice to wait for the song that was halfway through to end so as to not scam me by counting that as one song. The weirder part of this not-so-VIP room is that as you are seated, the girl places a wood slab across your lap as if your being secured into a theme park ride. Was it to contain customers from reaching out in excitement? To allow them to rest their head on their hands and oogle at the sights? I don't know, but it was quite bizarre for sure. Afterwards, we return to the main room of the club and chat over drinks. Customers drinks are around the four dollar range while her drinks cost $20. She mentioned to me that the Champagne Room starts at $500. Incredibly, she also lets me know that what goes on upstairs is the same dull (my description) dancing that goes on in the main floor. +1 for honesty, I guess. Eventually after about 30 minutes of chatting, I head out to check out Rock-Za across the street.
All said, Femme Nu is a mild and tame club, so don't get your expectations too high. At least from my experience with one gal, the dancers are nice and will treat you right. Between the two however, I can tell you that it is much better than Rock-Za. If I came back to Honolulu, I'll probably check out the other clubs that I have yet to visit before making a return to Femme Nu.
