I don't live in San Antonio,...

I don't live in San Antonio, so I don't usually hear about changes in the clubs there. But I've had several VERY enjoyable times at Babe's in the past, a few of which I've written about here. That's why it's such a disappointment to report that the place is dead now. I don't know if there was a bust or a crackdown or what, but the club definitely has the feel of a place trying to be on its best behavior. I've gone there the past two Mondays, arriving between 11:00 and 11:30am, paid my five bucks and entered an almost-empty club. True, this is early in the day, but I've had big success at the same time before. The waitresses used to wear whatever they wanted; now they're all in little black cocktail dresses. Some are low-cut, but some are not revealing at all. The owner and some of his pals sit at a table near the bar, playing dominoes. Sometimes 30 or 45 minutes goes by with NO dancer onstage. And I've only seen one or two dancers even hanging out the past two weeks. The lone dancer is usually a tall, skinny girl with no discernible curves and therefore of no interest to me. So for three visits in a row, I've sat down, ordered a drink, waited for about an hour for SOMEthing to happen...and then I left. What a comedown for this place, which used to have cute girls with real tits and LOTS of extra activity available. If anyone knows what happened to this club, I'd love to hear it. All the life has been sucked out of it.
