No longer Mark's Showplace, but rather...

No longer Mark's Showplace, but rather the Gold Club. A bit of a disappointing change. Cover charge is up ($7 vs $5). There are a few cosmetic upgrades, but basically the same club. The problem is fewer dancers, fewer customers, and less energy in the place. I've been there Wed night (amateur night, which used to be Thursday, used to be a big draw, and used to be fun), and on Thur night. I'm not sure what happened, but there is a definite decline in attendance. It's now sparse. The girls are attractive and nice, but fewer of them. And there's just overall less energy and excitement in the place. There are three stages, of which just one was in use this visit (which should have been a popular night but certainly was not).
