Mark's Showplace was purchased by the Gold Club chain. The new owners have added some flatscreen televisions, moved the VIP room to the former rock club next door and increased prices. They have gotten rid of all the daily specials including the $1.00 MGD on Monday, two for Tuesday and the lesbian shower show. The cheapest beer is $5.50. Private dances with minimal to no contact are $30 instead of $15. The teeshirt dance that includes a shirt and two private dances are $40 instead of $20. Most of the dancers are same with some new girls for new late shift. They have a late night breakfast buffet on Friday and Saturday night. No booze during those late hours but the girls are still dancing. I have not check out the new VIP room or the late night buffet on the weekends. Tuesday night used to be pack when it was Mark's, but in this economy I expect that night will be dead once everyone learns the new pricing schedule. Overall, the club has changed for the worst and I am not sure the local area demographics will support the prices increases with the minimal changes the new owners have made.
