Had never been to Club Lido...

Had never been to Club Lido before, so I decided to go check it out. The short review for those who don't want to read the whole thing - 90m of my life I'll never get back.

Showed up at 2310, and was the first person there. The doorman was very friendly and we chatted briefly before I went in. He said the show would start at 2330, and took my NIS100 cover - which included the first drink.

Once inside, I started out with mixed impressions. Instead of the usual bench seating, it was all large fake-leather armchairs with a few loveseats scattered around. Decent size interior, but a very small stage. The wall were done up with cutouts, flocking, and backlighting that reminded me of being in a carnival funhouse. The small bar had a plain wood "roof" strung with christmas lights - the kind of thing that looks exotic when its a beach bar on a tropical island, but here just looked cheap. The waitress was pregnant and wearing a wife-beater t-shirt. I took a seat and found that the armchairs were not nearly as comfortable as they looked. It felt like a few millimeters of foam on plywood.
