The Gold Club is a small...
The Gold Club is a small club in the corner of a back alley in Center City Philadelphia. Despite its slightly shady location, they manage to pack quite a bit into it's small interior. With seating room for about 20-35 people, it's a little bit more intimate than most other strip clubs. I went down for a friends bachelor party, there were about 10 of us total, and we pretty much had the club to ourselves. This time, I came by myself and during the day to see if I could contrast the two visits. When I walked in, there was a table of business men, a few regulars, the dancers and myself. But I wasn't expecting much for a Wednesday afternoon. The dancers were doing two song shifts with a song in between each one as they went for costume changes and curtain calls. I had two dances with the same woman whose name escapes me now. The first dance, which cost $30, was in the more intimate VIP part of the club. In this room there were couches enclosed with a curtain to give it a more private atmosphere. After my dance, the dancer stayed and chatted with me for a bit. She was very friendly and quite flirty. After a bit of talking, we went back for our second CD. This time in the other side of the club in the Private section. This one, costing only $20, was in a larger room where there were stall like chairs in an open rooms. this room only gives a slight modicum of privacy, as the bouncer's desk is right next to the entryway. All in all, not the best club in Philadelphia, yet certainly not the worst. YMMV depending on how you treat the dancers. The other dancer's were of various ethnicity, ranging between 6's and 7's. Being early afternoon when I got there, the dancers were not out in full force. The only downside to the club is the price of drinks. For a strip club in Philadelphia, the prices are a tad on the steep side. But, I'm used to the clubs in the suburbs so take that as you will.
