I stopped by the Midway to have a cold beer since I was in the area. There was no cover charge at about 2 in the afternoon. This was a good thing. The dancers on shift went from being so thin that I thought a skeleton was dancing to being very much on the plus side and lazy. The beer was cold and cheap. There is a hustle to put money in the jukebox since there isn't a DJ. The crowd was light; myself and two other guys both of whom sat at the bar. The music was decent and varied; no gangsta rap was played. The dance area has two couches that sit opposite each other. Dances start at $25 and the mileage is pretty good depending on the dancer. A couple got real up close and personal during the couch dances. One hinted that for a "little extra" we could both be satisfied. Another slipped me her phone number on a napkin and said to call her for a good time outside the club. All in all, the Midway has sunk low. Once a decent club, it now seems like a cross between a lousy pickup joint and a way station. I know I won't be going back.
