When you hear the name 'Spearmint...

When you hear the name 'Spearmint Rhino', you expect great things. It's a brand that has a certain cachet. The version in Lexington, KY, however, is a far cry from its more famous sibling in Las Vegas. If you read reviews of that club, the most consistently mentioned feature is that the place is crawling with women, many of them attractive. You can argue about value, but not about volume. This place is the complete opposite.

Don't get me wrong, it's looking -- the club itself. Attractive, clean, and well-maintained. Heck, while I was there, they were even doing repairs to the ceiling above the stage while girls were dancing. The waitresses are nice and attentive. The DJ is not super annoying and plays actual music.

But all of that is for naught if you can't back it up with attractive dancers, and this place can't. I went there on a Saturday night in the late evening. There were 6 or 7 dancers there total, and maybe 10-12 customers. The place was deader than dead. I waited for a few hours for the place to pick up, but it didn't. As far as I know, there was nothing special about this night, so I have to assume that this place is just really slow. The dancers who were there were also only so-so, maybe 5-6/10, and that's being generous. So, basically, this club totally misses out on the whole point of going to a strip club.
