As of Dec 1, 2009, Virginia requires restaurants and bars to be non-smoking (yea for me, as I don't smoke) unless they have a separate space w/ its own ventilation system as designated for smoking. CCR has built a smoking lounge in the front third of the place. It is surrounded by glass windows, about waist-high.
In the smoking section, they have taken out the 2 pool tables and put in another bar, running along the far side wall from the front door. They added 5 more TVs on the wall behind the bar. There are no booths, just a few 4-person tables. The round back stage is gone and they replaced it w/ a small rectangular stage at the front corner of the place, just behind the front door. This stage is only about shin-high and feels a bit cramped (I liked the old round stage that was waist-high a lot better). There is a pole at the outside corner of the stage. They also put in a small enclosed booth-size room for private dances (air-dances only), between the stage and the front wall. Have not been in there yet.
The girls do 1 song on the main stage, walk around and collect tips in the non-smoking section, then do 1 song on the small stage in the smoking section and then walk around and collect tips back there. For a while, different girls had different routes for there tip-walk (some going straight to the small stage like they used to pre-smoking lounge and then walk around the other parts of the non-smoking section after dancing in the smoking lounge), giving the previous dancer less time on the small stage. They seemed to have that all worked out now.
