This is the first of the "gentleman's venues" when heading up Shoreditch High Street from the City, or from Liverpool St. station, so is the obvious stopping point when you're on foot on a cold and rainy London evening. Of the venues in this area, this is also the most like a 'regular' pub. Personally, I like that this venue has a pub atmosphere – and even without the entertainment this isn't a bad place to stop and have a drink after work, but that is besides the point.

There never seems to be that many girls working here, but this seems to be a case of quality over quantity, as the girls are always amongst the prettiest in the business. Mostly white English or European girls, there isn't much in the way of choice, but given that the typical customer is a middle aged white man, typically a 'suit from the city', this is probably what people want, and it suits me. I'm always impressed with the stage show too. The shows come around pretty quick with not much of a break between them (which is a change from when I used to come here, many years ago) and the girls will actually dance around a little bit, and not just walk around the stage in various stages of undress.

The stage show requires the typical 'pound in the pot', but aside from that there is little or no hustle. In fact, the girls mostly sat and talked amongst themselves when they weren't on stage. I did see signs for the new lap dancing venue that seems to be upstairs, but it wasn't clear to me if it was open, and none of the girls seemed interested in encouraging anyone to go up there. That means that I didn't get a lap-dance, so I can't say what they might be like.
