I made a couple late evening visits to Fantasy’s while taking care of business in the Cherry Capital of the World. Fantasy’s is a nude strip club with no alcohol. On Wednesday, I was charged $15 as a cover charge. On Thursday, I was charged $25 as a cover charge. I was not given a wristband or receipt either night, so I am guessing reentry is not allowed. The cover charge includes your first drink. The options are a can of soda, a bottle of Gatorade, or a bottle of water. Subsequent drinks are $5 each. Monster energy drinks are sold for $10. Any drink bought for a dancer is $10 no matter what it is. Luckily, there was no hard sell to buy dancers beverages.
There is a large round central stage accessed by a short runway coming from a door in the corner. The main stage has three poles and a hanging ring. One of the poles spins, while the other two are stationary. There is also a tiny square stage, about a foot off of the ground, in the corner of the seating area. The secondary stage has a pole in the middle and was never used. The DJ was a former dancer, and the soundtrack was a variety of everything from rock to hip hop to electronic music.
For entertainers, the typical complement was five per night. Dancers would do three song sets on stage, getting topless by the second song and nude by the third song. Customers could touch the dancers while tipping. I received tits to the face and smacked a few asses. The stage was empty half of the time. There would be intermissions lasting several songs between the dancers’ performances. Some dancers were pushy to sell private dancers, while others seemed to hide in the dressing room when they were not on stage.

Topless private dances in booths with padded benches are $25 per song. The booths have a short wall giving some privacy from the rest of the room. VIP dances are fully nude and take place in booths with beds in them. VIP dances are $40 per song or three for $90. There are also VIP rooms available, which offer complete privacy from the rest of the room. The VIP rooms are $170 for fifteen minutes, $320 for thirty minutes, $570 for sixty minutes, $1370 for three hours, and $2280 for five hours. All private dances and VIP rooms have to be prepaid to the manager at a desk. The entire ceiling of the building is rigged with cameras, so you will not receive extras. I did a few topless dances with Ivy and a couple topless dances with Ivy. Patrons are able to grope the dancers with the exception of their vagina. I got a good grind from both dancers, but the songs were cut extremely short.
Here are three of the worst things about Fantasy’s:
1) There is a ten percent fee to get singles from the club. If you give the cashier $100 for singles, you are only given $90 in singles. So patrons are trying to tip the dancers, and the greedy club takes away money that is meant for the dancers. Make sure to bring your own singles.
2) The ATM has a twenty percent fee per transaction. If you take out the maximum withdrawal allowed, which is $500, you are charged an ATM fee of $100. If you take out $100, you are charged a $20 fee. This is outrageous. Make sure to use an outside ATM before walking into this club.
3) Songs are cut to two and a half minutes, which is ridiculously short. If you buy private dances, you are only getting one hundred fifty seconds of private time for $25 or $40, depending on whether you choose topless or nude.
Fantasy’s is owned by Deja Vu if you haven’t figured out already by all of the nickeling and diming. There were enough attractive dancers to keep me occupied, but the overall value for your dollar sucks. I think this place only stays in business because it is the only option for strippers in Traverse City. I will probably not return any time soon.
