So I'm coming up the J-Pike...

So I'm coming up the J-Pike from Delaware, and I'm actually ahead of schedule, so of course I need to do something stupid that will guarantee I hit the NY suburbs right at rush hour. The Playhouse is a legend, right? Perhaps deservedly so, although my experience was something less than what others have written about. First of all, it's easy to find, and seems to be reasonably safe, at least in daylight. The presence of a cruiser just outside the gate should not be reassuring, though; LE was stopping cars leaving the club for things like failure to use the turn signal. Someone not paid off? As noted by others, the interior will never be mistaken for anything upscale. Notwithstanding the legend, activity in the club seemed relatively tame. No tipping at the stage; but the dollar parade can drain you pretty quickly. On the other hand, you get to meet everyone, and learn pretty quickly who has an, uh ... other hand. Much of the talent seemed to be on the north side of 30, but some lookers, at least in low light. A VIP with a Brazilian lady was perhaps not what others have experienced in the past, but it was a pretty good grind and grab.
