This is as grim as it gets. First of all. it is hardly in "downtown" LA -- it's about 20 minutes east without traffic in the middle of nowhere. They claim free admission, but there is required valet parking for $5. And there is this weirdness about cell phones, which they search for aggressively and aren't allowed.

I spent about 3o minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence. But the bartender never bothered to respond to my attempts to get a drink while sitting right in front of him at the bar, the dancers completely ignored me, and the customers just seemed to glare at each other. There were some lapdances in the corner, but I have no idea as to the quality or costs since none were offered. I finally bailed, and discovered the Shearmint Rhino a block away, which was a far bater experience. Grim, grim, grim
