I visited the Gold Club for...

I visited the Gold Club for the first time last week. Showed up just before 8:00 with a 6-pack in hand. The non-VIP cover was $5. I went ahead and paid the $40 for VIP (regular cover plus $35). When I walked around the corner into the main area, a waitress relieved me of my beer promising to bring it to my seat on ice once I got settled.

A quick tour around the main floor and I wasn't terribly impressed with the level of talent on hand. Most of what I was seeing was in the 4-6 range and I was wondering if maybe I had made a big mistake. I decided to grab a seat in the VIP area, watch a bit of the game and have at least one of my beers before giving up entirely. The seating in the VIP area is about the most comfortable I've seen in any SC, though the leather couches look like they've seen better days (looks like they may have sustained some combat wounds from the dancers' shoes). Soon after finding an acceptable spot, my beer arrived in a tub of ice at a charge of $1 per bottle. I'm not sure what they charge if you bring liquor. I did have at least one dancer lament the fact that none of the customers had brought liquor that night (she also let me know that Crown Royal is always popular with the dancers).

Sometime around 9:00, things started looking up. The less visually appealing dancers disappeared and were replaced by a crop of 6-8s with a few solid 9s. Most of the girls were white or hispanic (there were a couple of asian and african-american girls) and the girls came in all sizes from rail-thin to bootylicious. There's something here for everybody. You can't really see the main stage from the VIP area, but there is a small stage between two of the couches that's on the dancers' rotation. Also, it seemed like most of the girls made a point to swing through the VIP area looking for dances.
