I visited late on a rainy...

I visited late on a rainy Thursday night about 3 am. I was there because of a friend who wanted to check the place out. It was not very busy but there were more people than I expected at that time and weather. The staff were very pleasant and professional. Most of the girls were pretty good looking. Even the waitresses were worth looking at but the dancers were better. The main stage area is just a mirrored alcove with steps down to a platform. No pole but there were some brass rails some of the dancers used to show themselves. This was the first time I have been in this club or a club in Chicago. It was definitely clean and well maintained. One thing about the layout I have not seen before is two video projection screens flanking the dance floor which showed music videos. There are raised areas on both sides with a bar on one of them. There is a private dancing area in the back area. My only problem with the physical layout was that it felt like they had bass speakers in the seats. You could feel it very strongly on most of the songs. The two side platforms were not in use probably because of the time and attendance.

I don't know if it was the time of day or their normal style but while the dancers were varied and good looking and the few I spoke with very pleasant and friendly, I would not call what they did on stage dancing. I have seen some very good dancers and the dances I saw were not even in the same league. A few had good body and muscle control but I admit I am a bit of a snob when it comes to performances. I would call the stage work more display than dance although a few I think could perform well if they wanted to. I recognized some of the moves a few were doing. The dancers did work the area around the stage well and got a good rapport (and tips) with the few who were up close. It might have been that they were just not trying hard due to the few people who were there. I would not blame them for that. I just don't have a comparison to judge by.

I would like to see the place again when it is busy such as an early weekend night. I think the atmosphere would change a bit. I rated the dancers a bit lower than I think they may deserve due to stage work but I will have to get a better impression than I got. I know my friend wants to go back and I will probably go with them so I hope to update this later. I will say that although it is a bit more expensive than many clubs, it is much nicer as well. A better atmosphere and a better feel to it. For those reasons alone it is worth visiting.
