The Plaza remains one of the most "typical" of the current Block venues. The VIP area (behind the bar)has undergone a recent downgrade with the removal of the curtain between the VIP area and the bar, which seriously affects the privacy factor. Even with the VIP lights turned off, the room light is pretty bright and leads to serious dancer angst. However, as always, YMMV. Gentleman Joe is back as part-time bartender toward the end of the week, so things may be improving in this always cyclical bar.
