BT’s will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the first strip club I ever visited. So, I just HAD to see what the $1.2 million renovation has wrought to this long-standing Dearborn club. Its new name is BT’s Executive Club. In a word, the change is remarkable. Millions of small mirrors line the walls and ceilings. The stage is about the same size as the old one, but it looks new. Plasma TV’s everywhere so I can get my fill of T&A as well as whatever sports are on. Vivid lighting everywhere (well maybe not in the VIP). There’s a wine cellar. Valet parking, which I despise, is now 8 bucks. My MGD at 6 P.M. was $5.66; that turned into 8 bucks when I ordered one after 7. Geez, I’m getting priced out of these markets. Hasn’t anyone told strip club owners that we’re in a most severe economic recession today? Service was superb. I’d rate it 10. I’m used to about 4-7 at most SC’s (8 means it’s my lucky night). Rosie bent over backwards for us (no extras were requested from her however). We’re feeling really good sitting in this brand spankin’ new SC ; that is, until we look on stage.

For the 6-9 P.M. time frame we were present, I would say the dancers rate 4-7 (OK, maybe there was one 8 right before we left). I would like to think that this beautiful club could attract better dancers than we experienced, and maybe a horde of 10’s arrived for work there at 9 P.M. that night, but I cannot vouch for this (you’ll have to excuse me for leaving ‘early’, but I live a couple of counties over).No LD’s for me or my friend to rate, due to our lack of interest in getting such on this evening. I should note that it costs $10 to enter the VIP, then $20 per song. However, if you would prefer the deep, private VIP, it will set you back $20 plus $25 per song. Am I wrong to resent being charged $10-$20 before I’ve even gotten one LD? I can understand the owner(s) trying to get a bigger cut of the dancers’ work, so to speak, but I don’t like it. Put it in the dancers’ tip out; then I won’t have to bitch about it.

I’m sure you can detect disappointment in the tone of what I’ve described. I did have pretty high expectations, which were not met on this particular Thursday evening. Maybe another night, another time, would leave me breathless. If so, I’ll do a follow-up review. One of the dancers who visited our table stated that we shouldn’t judge the club by the day shift (lame, I agree)and tried to convince us to stay later to see the ‘top’ dancers. Three hours in a SC is enough for me…
