Trixie's Gold Room is still my club of choice in Louisville. I've been there a number of times, and haven't yet been disappointed. They don't serve alcohol, but that's not necessarily bad in my opinion. There's still a few drunks show up once in a while, but they at least have to get up and go next door to get more, and sometimes forget to come back. The staff has never failed to be friendly to me when I arrive, or when I ask for something, and on more than one occasion, when not very busy, has even given me a friendly good-bye when I leave. The cover, $8 that night, is a bit high, but I thought it was eventually worth it. The $4 drink price for a small bottle of water or glass of soda is definitely high, along with the "one drink per hour" minimum, but nobody has ever gotten nasty about it when I haven't gotten anything, and I've seen more than one other patron turn down a second drink, without comment from anyone.

The main room is spacious, with small tables, and decent chairs. Everywhere in the main seating area has a good view of at least one of the two raised stages, most can see both easily. There are also a dozen or so chairs that seat directly at one stage or the other, for those who like to get up close to their dancers. Tables against the wall are often used by dancers for table dances.

The lap dance area is roomy, with about 10 or 12 comfortable, padded love seat style couches so the dancers don't hurt their knees. They aren't situated too close to each other, either, so you don't feel like the guy next to you is getting a better dance from your dancer than you are. There is also a dungeon room, with shackles and other BDSM fun (not too serious!) gear, where some poor souls, such as bachelors and other such celebrants, are often taken as part of their buddies' idea of a joke. The upstairs VIP area is spacious as well, with booths that resemble nothing so much as the chair Will Smith pulled across the floor during the test scene in the first Men In Black movie, only much more comfortable, being wide enough to seat two, and with a seat depth that keeps you from feeling like you are going to fall on the floor.
