Based on its off-the-beaten-path location and reliance on serving alcohol (topless only under NY laws) this is a great club for the value. Perhaps during ski season it gets more traffic but during the summer things seem fairly quiet and it definitely thrives on being a watering hole with a view.
The club appearance itself is unassuming--one side of a long ranch-style building--it does not possess any real enticement on the exterior. The inside is small and overall relatively dark--it's hard to tell exactly how much of the space the club itself occupies. However, it's clean and well-kept, stage lighting is good. There are TV's in all corners if you want to catch up on games etc., and the overall atmosphere is real relaxed and friendly, music isn't overly loud or overbearing. The stage is in the middle of the floor with the bar running around the perimeter of that--patrons obviously sit on the outside. The bartender kind of comically runs around the moat between the stage and the bar, acting as both security and barkeep. Patrons can sit around 3 sides of the bar (probably seats around 40 max) with one end being the backstage entrance/exit. Drinks were reasonable, there was no cover on a Saturday night in the early summer, and because of the patrolled moat between patron and dancer, patrons have to hurl wadded bills onto the stage. Not only was this unbelievably amusing but it also meant that we could sit and watch without having to tip a lot of money. There's kind of no point to keep tipping/throwing bills because the girls' can't come directly to your vicinity while they are dancing anyway. Plus we were enjoying the (presumedly) endearing ritual performed by some of the livened-up locals of wadding up bills as tightly as they could then whipping them at the dancers when in a...um...vulnerable position. However, after the dancers have left the stage they will individually come around to each person, where i think it is customary/necessary to provide adequate gratuity.
The two girls who took turns on the small stage that night were hot, energetic, and gymnastically imaginative with the two poles, and they were very interactive with the crowd. One was voluptuous brunette, the other was firm/perky blond. They weren't necessarily knockouts, but they were both really sexy with a bit of a "girl next door" feel--they would come hang out outside the bar in between shifts and get chatty, all of which adds to the "buddies' basement" feel that this place has. If you're looking for a place with a club feel, more dancers on-shift or want to pay for individual attention, this probably isn't the stop. However, if you find yourself in the Catskills and are up for whatever with not too much monetary commitment it's totally worth it. Plus this place can probably get pretty crazy with the right scene on the right night, with such a local feel to it. I want to try and go back on a ski or holiday weekend to see what it's like then.
