Small, expensive, and lots of hustle. But honestly not a bad choice for Manhattan, particularly because of the location. New York Dolls is located down near city hall, where there's not a lot else going on, and away from all the bigger clubs up in midtown. So give it a point for serving a different part of town.

Inside, there's a front bar where one girl works a tiny stage, usually in evening wear. You can buy drinks at the bar and save yourself some money from what you'd pay back by the stages.

The back room is also small, but they cram about fifty chairs and a handful of tables in there. There's a runway that runs the length of the back wall, with a couple of poles, and a bit that sticks out into the center of the room. On a weekend night, there will be three girls on stage in various levels of undress.

The girls here are attractive to very hot, and what's nice about the place is that you get a lot more natural girls than the megaclubs uptown. That's not to say there's not plenty of silicon around, but NY Dolls seems a little more real. Expect a lot of european girls, particularly eastern europe, but there's always at least one girl of whatever type you might be into.

Lap dances are $20, and depending on the girl, provide pretty decent contact. But the hustle for them is pretty intense-- you simply cannot sit and watch the stage show without being interrupted every 4-5 minutes by a girl looking for your cash. If you know how to handle the hustle, you'll be ok, but it can be intimidating.
