I stopped by Club Alex's a couple of weeks ago, just to see how this club compared to the nearby Foxy Lady, and the clubs of Providence, which I'm more used to. To finish that thought – I'm not sure how to compare this to any of the nearby(ish) clubs – it is definitely different. I was a little confused when I first walked in, as the club seemed to be some sort of diner. The place was well lit, and there were lots of small tables filling the room. Typically I sit at the bar when I first enter a club, to have a drink and to look around for a bit – but there is no bar here (they sell liquor, but it is all waitress service), so I sat at a fixed stool by the breakfast bar and waited to get served.

After the initial surprise of the club, I have to say that I quite liked it. There is a large central stage complete with a shower cubicle (not being used when I was there), and it seemed that there were always two girls dancing on stage, rotating every three or four songs. And the girls were quite hot. On average, they weren't quite up there with the Foxy Lady girls, but there were a number of eights, and no one below a six. When I was there it was mostly youngish white girls, but there were a few Hispanics and some darker girls too.

I couldn't stay for long, but a cute little Hispanic girl had sat with me for a while, and suggested that we have a dance before I leave. Dances are $20 per song, so I thought I'd give it a go. The dance was at the back of the club, but wasn't in a private area, and was in plain view of the rest of the club. Consistent with the diner theme, one dancer had to move her dinner to another table so that we could do the dance. And a very nice dance it was – nothing unusual, but the dancer, whose name I can't remember, knew what she was doing. I don't know if there are other options for dances here, but if so, I think I'd have rather had some more privacy, but that is my only complaint.
