On a suffocatingly hot and humid Monday afternoon, I visited the Pleasure Palace. I know that clubs can be hit-or-miss, depending on your luck, and unfortunately my visit was a definite miss.

Being unfamiliar with the area, I ended up making a few wrong turns and doing some accidental sight-seeing. East St. Louis is a bad area, but at the same time it is almost surreal and would be a great place to do some photography if one is brave enough. It reminded me a lot of the West Bottoms in Kansas City -- A crumbling industrial district, close to a river with hundreds of old buildings which have been mostly abandoned for decades.
