Even though I've lived in the Triangle area for quite a while now, I had never been to Pure Gold until last night. When you first approach the club, it sort of surprises you. It's not a standalone building and is right next to a residential neighborhood (which must be thrilled about a bunch of perverts parking in front of their houses every night :) ). If it wasn't for the name Pure Gold, I'd assume it was a hole in the wall. But man, what a pleasant surprise once I got in!

There's a membership here but my friend I was with was an old hat and had a card so he signed me in. I still had to pay $15 though. Oh well, I've paid more for worst places.

The place was small and it was crowded (not surprising, it was Saturday) so we had to stand for a little bit but it didn't take us long to find a seat towards the back of the crowd. What was funny about all this was their champagne area was completely empty and could have easily accommodated over a dozen of the people standing up.
