Brad's is everything it's cracked up...
Brad's is everything it's cracked up to be. No pretentious fake elegance, no guys in black suits with an attitude, no ridiculous rules that detract from a fun experience for everyone involved. This was my first visit to Brad's and I was totally impressed after about 30 minutes. It's not fancy on the outside, it fact it's underwhelming when you make a special trip of several hours and see a concrete block and plywood building. But once you walk in and find a seat (that was a challenge even on an ordinary Tuesday night), you will enjoy yourself.
Certainly, if you were building it from scratch, it wouldn't be as long and narrow. And the stage would be higher. It's raised only a few inches due to the very low ceiling. But there is room for three dancers simultaneously. The sound system is well balanced; loud enough but not overpowering--you can still carry on a conversation anywhere in the club. The DJ said things to move the show along, not the stereotypical drivel you often hear. The beer was cold, the bar selection was good.
The lap dance area is way too small, but they are nearly finished with a much larger area on the opposite side of the second bar. The present smaller area will become a group party zone for bachelor parties, etc. The VIP Room ($100-30 mins) is rather plain, with padded benches around all four walls, much like Cheetah's in Vegas. While it's not really private, I didn't feel it inhibited the two way contact. No bouncers or floor guys came in during the half hour. Cameras were said to be present but I would have never guessed from the dance. It appeared that the dancers are on the Honor System for VIP timing.
