My boyfriend and I went to Savannah's on Friday, June 5th. I have been working at Platinum Plus for years, but the club has become overrun by too many girls doing too much for too little money (a good thing for you guys out there, but not for those of trying to make a living by dancing). To top it off, the club seems to have lost a large portion of its clientele (economy crisis, probably, although things like girls trying to rip customers off, WAY too loud music, and a freezing cold atmosphere have not helped matters). Platinum had 37 girls at 2:00 PM on Friday afternoon and maybe 7 customers. Knowing I had a slim to none chance of even making tip-out (something which has occurred more and more often as club continues to hire dancers even though the girls who have loyally worked for years are struggling), I called my boyfriend and asked him to come with me to check out Savannah's. I had heard it needs quality dancers. Entering the club was a surprise as I had been there when it was Chastity's, but the seediness of the entrance convinced me to go no further. Now the place is very welcoming, and the girl behind the counter was extremely friendly. She thanked us for coming and told us to have a good time. We went in and again I was surprised. I had heard rumors of the dive-like qualities of the club, but we thought it was very nicely decorated. The bartender was hot and the waitress, upon finding out my guy is a lawyer, sat and talked about an impending legal issue. So maybe my boyfriend has even picked up a client!! Anyway, the girls were not bad (at least not like I had heard). There were maybe 6-7 of them. No customers to speak of for the first hour or so, but some guys did come in around the start of happy hour. We talked to a very pleasant, cute girl named Jenna who had worked night at PP, but now works days at Savannah's. She was very helpful and seemed eager to give me information about the club (again, surprising, since most of the time dancers want to keep out the competition). We did not get any dances in the back since this was mainly a recon visit, but we did tip on stage. Since there were so few girls, rotation went quickly, so we got to see the girls we liked pretty often. All in all we had a good time at the club. I truly hope it does well for it has potential. The music is not blisteringly loud and the temperature is not so cold that you can't bear to sit for extended periods of time. I know we will go back again...
