On a recent week-long trip to Vegas, I visited Spearmint Rhino on a Wednesday afternoon. I like to go to the clubs when they are NOT crowded, so I often to in the afternoon or early evening. The club layout has been described by many others, so I will skip that.

Spearmint Rhino, once the best club in Vegas, has become a major rip-off. It cost $50 just to get in, even in the early afternoon. They try to justify the ridiculous cover by including 2 overpriced drinks in the $50. The stage dancers were mostly great looking, but looked tired and bored, providing no reason to sit at the stage and tip. The girls in the club were doing one of two things: sitting around talking with local regulars who weren't spending any money, or pressuring the rest of the patrons for VIP dances. Lap dances in the main area were strictly hands-off on the part of the guy, so I chose a hot-looking brunette to take to the 3 songs for $100 area. She gave pretty good (not great) lap dances, but even in this area, a bouncer came by every couple minutes to make sure you kept your hands down at your sides and didn't touch the girl. I couldn't believe I paid $100 for three songs, couldn't even touch the girl, and had a stupid bouncer watching. The Rhino appears to be trying to force you to go to the even higher-priced areas ($200-$400) to get any privacy and mutual touching. Even the girl seemed embarassed that she couldn't provide any better value for the money. I watched the uninspired stage show for a few more minutes. Another great looking girl sat down and talked to me. I told her the club had dramatically changed for the worse and she agreed with me. She said most of the girls were unhappy with the new prices and rules. She was planning to move to one of the other clubs in Vegas unless things changed soon.

Spearmint Rhino has become a terrible value for the money. There was still some great looking eye candy, but unless that is all you want, and you have money to burn and don't care if you get any value for it, stay away from Spearmint Rhino. I had MUCH better experiences at Palomino, Little Darlings, Olympic Garden and Cheetahs during the same trip to Vegas.
