I had not been to Tijuana...

I had not been to Tijuana for over 2 years before returning last week. Hong Kong Club has changed considerably. It now includes the space that used to be Las Chavelas, and Las Chavelas is moved a little and includes both the area that used to be Miami Bar, and what I think was Hotel Cascadas. Hong Kong is the nicest looking bar in the Zona Norte. It has two levels, with seats along the stages as well as multiple booths similar to what you would find in a diner. There are also small private booths available on the second floor. There are several stages, as well as dancers on the bars. Drinks, as others have reported, are typically $3.50 or 42 pesos. I did not buy any lady drinks. The club was fairly empty on Wednesday, and almost full on a holiday Saturday, with most tables occupied.

The girls are unfortunately much less attractive than they used to be. I saw exactly one girl I would rate above an 8, and a handful of 7-8s as long as you can tolerate fake boobs and a little extra weight. Most of the girls, however, are just downright fat and/or ugly. I can't believe how much less attractive they are now than a few years ago. I can't report on the price to take them to a private booth or a hotel, as I did not find anyone I would have been interested in until we were walking out. There was a cover charge that included a beer on Saturday, but none on Wednesday. However, on Wednesday the talent level was even lower. I'll return if I am in Tijuana, but I'll no longer make many special trips just for the bars.
