It was a Thursday in late February, 10:00pm and the place was packed. I was wearing Dockers and a golf shirt and felt woefully under dressed. The bouncer and the hostess insisted I was fine, but I was absolutely the worst dressed guy in the club.

Club Paradise is a smaller club but the high ceilings help disguise that fact. As you enter from the front door / hallway and make the left turn into the club, the bar is on the right. In front of the bar is a large social area capable of holding over 50 people. From there you step down to the main floor and stage area which is located in the opposite corner from the front door. A private dance area is sectioned off from the main floor by a shear curtain to the left of the stage.

I was waiting in line at the bar (did I mention the place was packed) when I was befriended by an attractive, curvaceous, young brunette from the Midwest dressed in a long, elegant black gown. “Melanie” asked what I was drinking, grabbed the twenty from my hand, pushed her way to the bar and returned with my drink in a flash. The Crown & Seven from the bar was expertly prepared and of adequate size for the price paid. I don’t know what the ladies drink cost, but I never saw any change. (I hope the bartender got a tip out of the deal.)
