Well, well, well... I was here...
Well, well, well... I was here last August when they were raising the scrolling electronic sign when the club opened. Of course, being new, it was clean. The chairs for the guys were very comfortable and could turn to face your friend, etc. Small stage, small main floor area, but very nice VIP dance area. They're semi-private and very comfortable. The girls (of which there was 8 to 12) were bored. There was maybe one other guy in there besides myself and my friend the first night. The girls ranged from a 5 to an 8. They had maybe one bouncer/door guy, one guy on the main floor, and a waitress; so a small staff to go with the small crowd.
We came back two days later and CULTURE SHOCK! Apparently the day inbetween, a dancer and a guy punched each other over a dance dispute. So they massively ramped up security. For five club patrons (of which we were 40%), there were now three added security guys, a bartender, and two cocktail waitresses, in addition to the previously mentioned folks (above.) I got a couple dances from the different gals there and everytime I went back to VIP, there was at least one guy who'd walk by during the dance and check up. BUZZ KILL. But it gave him soemething to do... One of the gals told me to put my hands on her boobs and guess who walked by? "Hands off the girls!!!" She then apologized and said she didn't know they were that strict. I don't know whether that club is still that ramped up on security, but it seemed like the real life incarnation of the line from Pulp Fiction where Ving Rhames, angry at Butch for not throwing the fight, says "I want a brother in a rice bowl in Vietnam waiting for him if he even goes there" or something to that extent. It seemed you couldn't go anyplace in the club without finding yet another security guy.
To summarize: nice layout, very comfortable for the customer, and the best setup for a private dance in Seattle (Rick's included). However, what the girls will do is fairly reserved compared to Rick's reputation. And this neighborhood is fine. My last trip to San Francisco in March, I went to several clubs on Market St. and the O'Farrel Brothers neighborhood (makers of "Behind the Green Door"). Both those neighborhoods were far, far more sketchy than Little Darlings.
