Over the years I have been to every club in Tampa and many in south Florida and none are as good for the consistent high quality and attitude of the dancers as Mons Venus. This is not a big, fancy “Gentlemen’s Club”. Mons is a small club with not a lot of the amenities found in other strip clubs. It doesn’t have a DJ, only a juke box. There is no cigar smoking or smoking of any kind allowed as well as no alcohol and no big comfortable sofa chairs to lay back in while you watch the show. Couch potatoes will not like it here. There are no back rooms and therefore no extras. The other clubs in Tampa offer those things usually as an illusion for a price with women who would not make the cut at Mons. This place is designed for one thing and one thing only. Lapdancing. Hands on lapdancing with beautiful, stark naked women is what they do here. There is a $20 entrance fee. Dance prices are negotiated with the dancer of your choice and range from $20 to $30. No one will pester you with buying anything else. I arrived here late on a Wednesday night and got a seat at the stage. There were three gorgeous naked dancers on stage and almost every seat at the stage taken. The girls were raking in the tips and giving everyone a good show. Over time, I was approached by several dancers offering me a chance for a lap dance, but I wanted to watch the stage show for a while longer. All took my no with a smile and a “enjoy the show” goodbye. I was later approached by a dancer who was a dead ringer for Phoebe Cates. I couldn’t believe my eyes . She asked me something, but I was so stunned I didn’t hear her. Finally I managed to gather my wits and apologized for my idiot behavior. I wanted to dance with her, so we found a place on the benches by the back wall of the club. She didn’t know who Phoebe Cates was, but said another customer several days ago had said the same thing about her. I spent several minutes telling her about Phoebe, mostly so I could simply look at a remarkable beautiful woman. Finally the dances started and I had one of the best times of my life. Near the end of one of the dances, she turned around, bent over and I place my hands on each cheek and gently spread them apart and for that minute I gazed on paradise.
