The Pink Pony is an old and tired club in serious need of a face lift. Unfortunately, in a city that 20 years ago was on the cutting edge of Gentlemen's Clubbing, it currently ranks near the top of the Atlanta strip club scene -- a sorry state indeed!

I have been to the Pony several times over the last few years. In that time it has experienced a steady, if slow, decline. The plusses: there are almost always plenty of dancers and they generally a friendly and not at all pushy. The minuses: the club is tired and run down (without a makeover in ages, its appearance can be accurately described as seedy); its night time DJ plays the old standards (never any cutting edge tunes here), announced with a whiney, chalk-on-the-blackboard resonance; a few years ago it had the benefit of having quite a number of quite attractive and fit dancers (solid 7s and 8s on a fairly tough rating scale); today, those dancers are few and far between, and a good deal of the evening crew have been a the club for years (too long in many cases).

Without much competition, the Pony continues to draw a regular clientele, even in these troubled economic times. I have found myself coming here less and less and going to the Cheetah more and more. If someone could figure out how to open a new first class club in Atlanta, they could do well. Until then, the Pony likely will continue to drift along on its slow but unmistakable decline.
