I love this place!!! It used to be one of three clubs in Soho; the Raymond Revue bar and the 'Carnival' being the other two. The revue bar was the most upmarket club and anyone who attended knows what I'm talking about, the sunset and the carnival were the poorer cousins. In recent years the sunset strip has been totally refurbished and is run far more professionally. It has seen off the competition and now only has to compete with the relatively new (within the last 10 years) Boulevard club. Since the closure of the Raymond Revue bar, Sunset has spent vast amounts on giving itself a facelift. What it says on the tin is what you get! An entrance fee of £15 gets you in and if that's all you want to spend that's all you have to spend. Drinks from the bar are completely optional but a beer will cost £4, if you choose to drink it upstairs you get the chance to talk to any of the many dancers milling about up there between songs. Downstairs is the auditorium where the front row seats are usually for those tipping £5 notes. If you sit in the seats a little further back the view isn't as good but you're not required to tip so is recommended for those on a budget. My tip is to turn up at 4pm, that way you get to see all the day shift a couple of times and then at 6pm it's all change and load of new dancers appear for the evening shift. I attended on a monday afternoon and when the shift changed they had so many girls they had to reduce the songs from 2 per girl down to 1. The club has recently moved the dj booth from the left side to the right and where it used to stand is now a curtained off area for lap dances. I didn't go in there so I don't know what goes on, I was quite content to drink my beer and soak in the views. My favourite club on the planet and I've been to many believe me!!!!
