I used to go to Gallaghers...

I used to go to Gallaghers many years ago, when it was around the corner on Queens Blvd. It was one of the few clubs in New York that seemed relaxed and pleasant, long before the more upscale clubs arrived in Manhattan. Having been away for years, I thought I would try it again on a cold Saturday afternoon, but with no idea what I would find.

I couldn't believe that anyone would be there, but there were about 10 guys nursing beers when i got there at about 1pm. Maybe an equal number of dancers, with a wide range of looks and bodies. But they were friendly and relaxed, without being pushy.

After several pleasant conversations, I found myself in the lap area for a series of dances. The mileage was definitely greater than what I have experieced in Manhattan (for laps, I have never sprung for VIP), with some stick shifting and breast contact. The only problem was that the girls didn't quite know the value of a light touch - it was almost too much friction. I had the feeling I could have gotten away with more if I had tried. All in all, it was better than I expected. Now I want to see what it's like at night.
