Stopped in to Joy for a quick beer a few weeks ago and immediately noticed that there was a lot more going on than the last time I'd been there. If I'm remembering correctly, I had to pay a small cover charge that I don't recall ever having to pay in the past. The cover didn't seem to have had a negative effect on attendance however, because there seemed to be more people, both dancers and patrons, than I recall seeing on weekday evenings in the past.
It also seemed like the quality of the dancers had improved as well - not that dancer quality was a problem in the past. I didn't see any 10s, but there were many girls in the 7-8 category and a couple of 9s. And a good deal of ethnic diversity - something for most any taste.
I didn't get any of the bargain laps that are offered on Tuesday, but I did a lot of stageside tipping and found most of the girls to be very friendly. Some provided more stage-side contact than others and it's not unusual to get a quick, friendly "thank you" kiss and a smile from the dancers which I think is a nice touch.
