I heard this club had been renovated and that some of the girls who’d left the other club in Deland had moved here, so I decided to give it another try while passing through on Saturday. The name change and busy parking lot seemed encouraging, and so did the door man telling a dancer to give me a tour and find me a seat. Even if the dancer wasn’t my type, so was pretty and seemed nice enough at first. But as soon as we went through the door, she cut me loose with a “There’s the bar, there’s the stage. Sit where ever you can find a seat.” Nice. Strike one.

As busy as the place seemed, there were one or two open tables. The place has been redecorated since my only previous visit a few years back. There is now a real stage, not just an area of the floor marked off for a runway. Rather than take a seat right away, I tried to work my way up to the bar, which was surrounded by patrons and dancers. The dancers were engaging the patrons in conversation, which is better than I see at some clubs. But by the time I got up to the bar, there didn’t seem to be any bartenders. After a minute or so, I caught the attention of a nearby dancer and asked if there was a bartender. She looked around, said “they’re somewhere,” and then she turned back to her conversation with a couple of customers. I waited several more minutes, gave up, and took a seat at a table near the stage.

The stage show was strictly bikini bar tease, no nudity whatsoever. Talent seemed to be a significant upgrade from what I remember from my previous visit, but still nothing great. Most dancers seemed to be in the 5-7 range. A blond with a shapely backside but no top-end took the stage and did about as good a routine as one could expect at a bikini bar and even though I wasn’t one of those who tipped her, she came to my table to say “Hi,” and I offered her a seat. Only then did a waitress even notice me, take my drink order, and pressure me to buy something for the dancer. Normally I don’t buy dancer drinks, but she asked for the same bottled water I did, so I didn’t see the harm. Still, I hate the practice. Strike two.
